Paris gets its second Paon
5 November 2025
Le Paon Qui Boit, Paris' first alcohol-free bottle shop, has opened a second venue in Rue Daguerre, in the 14th arrondissement. On the left bank, it's in a lively area famous for its food and drink, and the organisers are optimistic about its success.
'It's an exciting project, and makes a lot of sense for us,' said Paon Qui Boit founder, Augustin Laborde, a judge at the first WAFA. 'Consumer demand made it necessary for us to cross the Seine to help people get to know these drinks of the future.'
The first Paon was established in 2022 in Rue de Meaux on the right bank, and has attracted a steady stream of moderators and sober drinkers alike. There are 550 drinks in the retailer's portfolio, most of them organic, made in France and low in sugar.
It's part of a growing independent non-alc retail scene in France, with four shops in Paris alone: Xavier Alcool Sans Alcool, La Cave Parallele and the two Paon Qui Boit stores.
